Supporting Your Adventures
Welcome! I have fourteen years of experience in the mental health arena. With two master's degrees (the first in sociology and the second in clinical mental health counseling), I utilize evidence-based practices to provide respectful services that celebrate human agency and diversity in all of its expressions.
I honor your courage in reaching out for help as well as your perseverence in finding good help--it's not easy and I know many of you may have had bad experiences opening up in the past. You matter and the world needs you, even though it may not feel that way right now. I will do everything within my power to support you. My specializations include the following:
Neurodiversity
All services are informed by my position that we all have different and equally valid ways of interpreting information and diverse relational styles. I am trained at the master's level to assess for autism and ADHD. I tailor my approach to your learning style and preferences, finding strategies that work for you. I embrace differences and honor diversity on all levels.
Life Navigation
Whether your challenges are career-related, relational, or just getting through each day—or a combination of these challenges and more—I'm here to help you navigate life more effectively.
LGBTQIA2S+
I adhere established evidence-based best practices to celebrate diversity on all levels, promoting mental health. These practices are designed to reduce harm and save lives.
Post-Traumatic Stress
I will help you manage and work through your trauma and adversities, including all types of traumas, from the "Big T traumas" to addressing microaggressions and discrimination/bias.
Disabilities
I can assist with the complexities of disclosing sensitive information about your disability status, gender, sexual orientation, etc., or opening up to and connecting with supports that may be available in the community. I also provide support in living with chronic pain, autoimmune challenges, learning differences, and more.
Writing & Sensory Activation, Somatic Awareness and Movement
We collaborate to determine which techniques work best for you and then use a variety of expressive tools to address difficult topics and big feelings.
Relaxation & Humor
Techniques to relax and incorporate humor as a therapeutic tool, and safe space to be fully human.
Venting & Structured Activity
Your space for expression as well as offering more structured guidance based on your needs and preferences.
Psychoeducation
Informative support to understand yourself and your experiences better.
Visual & Experiential Explorations
I employ a variety of creative and engaging methods to facilitate growth.
Narrative Therapy
This is my primary theoretical orientation, involving deconstruction of systems of being that do not service you or your values and goals.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
For those who prefer more directive and structured approaches, DBT techniques can help you be most effective in everything you want to do.
